GlenisPICKERINGIt is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glenis Pickering, aged 79, of Clayton-le-Dale. Glenis departed this life peacefully at home on February 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Julie, and son-in-law, Philip. Glenis was a cherished grandmother to her granddaughters, Amber and Ava; and she also leaves behind her niece, Fiona, and nephew, Michael. A retired teacher, Glenis dedicated her life to education and was an active member of the Hyndburn & Rossendale NSPCC. She also enjoyed being part of the Whalley Tennis Club, where she formed lasting friendships. Her funeral service will be held at St Peter’s Church, Salesbury, at 10.30am on Friday, March 7. The family requests that flowers be sent only from family members; instead, donations in Glenis’s memory may be made to the NSPCC c/o Hillside Funeral Directors. For further inquiries, please contact Hillside Funeral Directors at 318 Burnley Road, Accrington, 98N or call 01254 384877 or email info@hillsidefunerals.co.uk. Glenis will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
