John GeorgePICKLESPICKLES - JOHN GEORGE, January 21, 2020. Aged 84 Years. Died peacefully after a short illness. A Devoted husband of his late wives Susan and Ann. Loving father of Caroline, Jim, Rachel and Caroline. Much loved grandfather of Max, Fergus, Joe, Finn, Orla, and Annabel. Cherished brother of James. John will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. John was a prominent architect in Liverpool. He was head architect for the original Royal Liverpool Hospital, and also led the restoration of the Lyceum and the India Buildings. He won the European Gold Medal for his restoration of the Albert Dock. In his retirement he focused on his passion for painting landscapes, dividing his time between his homes in England and Italy. Service at Southport Crematorium on Friday 14th February at 2:00pm. Family flowers only please but, if desired, donations in lieu of flowers are being collected for the Marie Curie Hospice in Woolton.
