LionelPLATTSIt is with great sadness we announce the death of professional golfer Lionel Platts. Lionel peacefully passed away in a care home on 23rd May 2021 aged 86 after being diagnosed with mixed dementia two years ago. The last six to eight weeks saw a dramatic decline in Lionel's health. Husband to the late Beryl and much loved father to Julie, Bobby and Chris and close friend to Diana. As an honorary member of the Professional Golfers Association, Lionel will be missed by all for his popular and fun loving character. His funeral is to take place on 15th June 2021 at Chelmsford Crematorium by invitation only (due to current restrictions). Donations will be kindly received on behalf of the PGA Benevolent Fund via www.agsmithfunerals.co.uk/donations/
