A great life lived!
I knew Maureen longer than I knew my own parents, as she came into our family when I was 18 months old. She was ever present for 50 years in the Samsworth household and our bond lasted beyond that.
A true “Girl Friday”. She cleaned, shopped, painted, baby sat and cared for us all over the years.
Her happy, chatty personality was always welcome and she became a very important part of the family and our every day lives at weddings, funerals and dress up parties! As the crew grew she embraced and loved all the grand children and great grand children, and they in turn, loved her!
My personal highlights include trips up to London to watch Chelsea play and enjoying bread and dripping with her at ‘elevensies’! I had the honour of being her page boy at her wedding and of working with her at my first job at the factory!
She is already missed but what a pleasure it has been to have her as apart of our lives. Even in her last few months she remained positive and Pippa and I were so happy to share some time with her back in June, when true to form, she laughed and chatted and loved being brought up to date with all the family news.
My last enduring memory of Maureen, as she lay in her St. Winifred’s room, is a big hug, a smile, and I feel, a knowing goodbye wink, as we bade farewell.
A very special human being and much loved friend.
Thanks for everything Maureen.
