Grace MurielPLUMRIDGEGrace Muriel Plumridge (nee Sandford) formerly of Gravesend, Kent, sadly passed away on Thursday 19th June 2025, aged 95, in her home in Bishops Hull, Taunton. Somerset.

Widow of Keith Lloyd Plumridge (married 1951), Grace was the beloved mother of their four children Malcolm, Glynn, Gay and Anne and much-loved mother-in-law to Peter Purdy. She was also a dear sister to Peter Sandford and Jennifer Weller, and amazing grandmother, fond Great grandmother and a loving Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews at home and abroad.

Grace was trained at Charing Cross Hospital, London, as a State Registered Nurse and continued nursing for most of her working life, mostly at Yeovil, District Hospital, but she also took on roles as Care Home Manager (Langport, Somerset and Hunstanton, Norfolk), Student Hostel Manager (Kings Cross, London), Events Reporter with the Lynn News, Kings Lynn and Bookshop Owner and Manager (Wisbech, Cambridgeshire). Grace retired in Somerset, to be closer to her immediate family and lived her final years in Stoke-sub-Hamdon, Yeovil and then Bishops Hull, Taunton, Somerset.

Grace will also be especially remembered for having a beautiful soprano voice, a great comic actress, being a prolific letter writer, avid reader, lover of animals and supporter of several charities including the British Heart Foundation, for whom she raised thousands of pounds through staging and performing in Old Time Musicals and concerts.

The funeral service is to be held on Thursday 10th July at 10am at Yeovil Crematorium. Family flowers only please and donations to the British Heart Foundation are welcomed in loving memory of Grace.
