We knew Pauline as Polly. She was our Social Work colleague at the North Staffs Hospital during 1980s and 1990s.

Ben would often turn up at the office, sometimes Ben without Polly, no doubt looking for her, as was the Boss.

Polly would then arrive and with her colourful language entertain us all. She was well liked by her social work colleagues as well as the doctors, nurses and medical staff that she worked with. The Friday evening socials that she arranged at the Noah’s Ark were much enjoyed, where she sparkled and laid down many fond memories.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences.

Pauline and I were cousins, but for me when I was very young she was like a big sister. I used to stay with her and her mum and dad - Freda and Jim - in Tunstall for years. We would go to the park, and generally hang out in Tunstall. Of course that was many many years ago now (in the sixties I think), but I will never forget those times (some quite amusing in hindsight).

You will be missed.

Pauline, you may be gone but our memories will live on forever. You touched the lives of our family with your open arms, kindness and generosity. Words can’t express how much we will miss you. We can truly say we have loving fond memories of the holidays we had together in Scotland, Somerset, Greece and the times with Ron and Dennis. Rest in peace.
