Josephine Evelyn FrancesPOLLOCKJo On Saturday, 4th April, 2020, peacefully after a short illness, borne with her usual calm fortitude, at Roseland Parc Nursing Home, Tregony. Jo, aged 93 years, led a good and very full life, she was still elegant, smiling, astute and interested in everything, right to the end. Adored widow of Ian, whom she met while serving in the Royal Signals during World War Two. They lived in Wimborne, Southampton, Plymouth, Torpoint and Truro. Much loved by her proud family, Loraine and Ross, Steve and Kris, Nicki and Michael. A hard act to follow. An enthusiastic lifelong fundraiser for charity. Her listening ear was a help to many, as a friend, as Deputy Director of Samaritans Plymouth, at the Student Services Medical Centre of Plymouth Polytechnic and then as a Qualified Counsellor with CRUSE and the Child and Family Centre at RCH, Treliske. She travelled widely and made many good friends through Friendship Force. Her many friends were very important to her and gave her much joy. "I've known the love of those who have loved me. And I've known that they've known that I've loved them, too." Thomas Lynch. A PRIVATE funeral service will take place in the Kernow Chapel, Penmount Crematorium, with a memorial celebration to be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Jo to benefit the children's charity, Penhaligon's Friends. c/o: L. J. Tregunna Funeral Directors 49, Kenwyn Street Truro, TR1 3DB 01872 273568
