Gertrude FlorencePORTEUSIt is with deep sadness that the family announce the death of Gertrude who passed away peacefully whilst surrounded by her loving family at the Glynn Thomas House in Immingham on Friday 17th March 2023 aged 86 years. Adored Wife of the late Geoffrey, a much-loved Mum of Ian, Fiona and Kevin. Gertrude was also a cherished and doting Grandma of Claire, Samantha, Vicki and Lucy, a treasured Great Grandma of Eve, Lily, Avril and Oliver, a very dear sister of Sylvia. Gertrude will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Gertrude's life will take place at Grimsby Crematorium on Friday 21st April 2023 at 11:15 am All floral tributes greatly received but if so desired, donations can be sent to the Stroke Association in Gertrude's memory or given on the day of the service. Three years have passed since we said goodbye to our beloved Gertrude, yet her presence remains woven into every part of our lives. Time may move forward, but the love she gave us — steady, generous, and unconditional — continues to guide us every single day.

We remember her laughter — the kind that lifted spirits.
We remember her strength — quiet but unwavering.
We remember her love — the sort that asked for nothing and gave everything.

Today, three years on, we honour her not with sorrow alone, but with gratitude.
Gratitude for the memories she gifted us.
Gratitude for the lessons she taught us.
Gratitude for the love that still lives on in each generation of her family.

We miss her deeply — her voice, her presence, her steady reassurance — but we carry her with us in every story shared, every family gathering, every moment of kindness offered in her spirit.

Gertrude, you are loved beyond measure and missed beyond words.
