Gordon Edwards (GP)POWRIEThe family would like to thank all relatives and friends for their very kind wishes of sympathy, cards and flowers received during their recent bereavement. Gordon was a much loved husband, dad, papa, great papa, father in law, brother and friend. Thanks to family doctors, Ward 18 & Ward 29 of the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Accord Hospice and paramedics for their loving care and compassion shown to Gordon which was appreciated by all the family. All mourners at the funeral service of whom there were many and sorry we could not thank you all individually but it was greatly appreciated you turning up to pay your respects. Special thanks to Civil Celebrant Tony Welsh for a very uplifting service tinged with a lot of sadness but also a lot of laughter. Military Standard Bearers from the Royal Corp of Transport, Royal British Legion, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders and the Royal Engineers for paying respect to a fellow veteran, Piper Michael Kerr outstanding once again, Alison Stuart Flower Design and Geri MacNeil of Flowers and Thyme for beautiful flowers, Graham McLaughlin for fantastic catering and the Royal British Legion staff for all their assistance. Sincere thanks to Katrina Johnston and all staff of Woodside Crematorium for their assistance, kindness and support, Stewart Walker and all staff of Kenneth Keegan Independent Funeral Directors for their care, compassion and dignified funeral arrangements. Finally a big thanks to granddaughters Keren Orr and Sophie Greer, grandson Gordon Christopher Powrie for their beautiful words for their papa on his final journey, friends Monsignor Denis Carlin and Neil McCuaig for their kind words of friendship and Arthur Grant for the rendition of Binyon's Lines for a fellow veteran. It was a wonderful service for a wonderful man. 149 George Street Paisley PA1 2UG
