Beloved: husband to Julie and then Jenny, father of Hazel and Martin,
brother of Ann, uncle of Tom and Phil,
and owner of faithful canine companions Chester, Sam and Bushmill.
Rob, you are missed beyond words
Valued by all who knew him as family, friend, colleague, outstanding musician, vibrant conductor, inspirational and dedicated teacher, reliable organiser, willing helper,
Rob was an all-round caring, infinitely knowledgeable and hard-working person.
We are deeply thankful and honoured to have known him.
Brought up in Maidenhead, Rob gained music degrees from Surrey University
and Bulmershe College, Reading.
He had a long career working tirelessly for Berkshire, Warwickshire and Wiltshire music services as a teacher, ensemble director and manager, and as a freelance trombonist, inspiring a love of music wherever he went.
Away from work he loved nothing better than a DIY building project with family and friends,
followed by a good pint and curry. In his tragically short retirement he and Jenny,
with the help of their dogs, embarked on house renovations in Somerset.
Rob leaves in his wake many different legacies and happy memories.
