MildredPROCTERMildred Procter, of Gaulkthorn, Oswaldtwistle, died peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Tuesday, May 18, aged 80. Mildred was a beloved wife of the late George, a much loved mum of Clive and Christopher, a dear mother-in-law of Amira and Alison, and treasured grandma of Heather and Matthew. Being born and growing up at Scar Green Farm, Oswaldtwistle, Mildred left school to work as a weaver. Mildred was a very caring person and following marriage to George she worked part time whilst bringing up her family and helping care for her mother, elderly relatives and also latterly for George until his death in 2008. She enjoyed many social activities including darts and dominoes in local Ladies Leagues and trips to bingo. Mildred was a talented knitter and seamstress and would always have several projects on the go, many of which she would sell to raise funds for Green Haworth School and church. She had an amazing memory and would never forget birthdays or anniversaries. Despite suffering from failing health she remained very independent to the end. She will be very sadly missed by all those who knew her. A funeral service will be held at Immanuel Church Oswaldtwistle on Friday, June 4 at 11am. Flowers are welcomed and donations in memory of Mildred for Immanuel Church. There will be a donation box in church on the day of the funeral.
