Alan George JonesPROFESSORrofessor alan george jones 1st September 1947 - 13th August 2014 Professor Alan G Jones until recently Head of Department of Chemical Engineering, University College London passed away at St Francis Hospice after a prolonged illness. Professor Jones leaves behind wife Judith and son, Robert and was the proud father of Stephen Jones (1988-2007). Alan had a distinguished career at UCL as a world expert in Chemical Engineering and achieved the University's first D.Sc. in 1993. Alan was recognized for his pioneering work in Crystalization processes by industry colleagues worldwide and enabled the department to reach top scoring in R&D for many years. The funeral will be held at St Marys Church, Old Amersham on September 3rd at 11am. Family flowers only. Donations to The Royal Free Charity via H.C.Grimstead, Amersham are appreciated in lieu of flowers.
