George Snowden is my great uncle. He was my grandma’s (Mary Hutchcroft nee Snowden) brother who passed away in 2010. She often talked about her older brother and remembered him coming home in full uniform and wearing a kilt, with local children following him along Hessle Road. His family never forgot him and the last family member to see him was his father who was also serving in France with the East Yorkshire Regiment.
