Margaret (Peggy)PURCELLMargaret Purcell ,of Euxton Chorley, passed away, suddenly at home, on 11th March, 3 weeks before her 88th birthday. Better known as Peggy she was born in Stacksteads, educated at St Joseph's R.C. Primary School and Paddock House Convent Grammar School in Oswaltwistle. On leaving school Peggy worked for the Trustee Savings Bank, in the Rossendale Valley and surrounding towns, until her marriage in 1967. Her late husband, Dr Edward Purcell, was a well known doctor in Waterfoot where they lived until he took up an appointment in Chorley. A lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church, Peggy's funeral took place at St Mary's Church, Euxton where Requiem Mass was celebrated. Family meant everything to Peggy. She was devoted to her daughter Margaret Mary and husband Daniel, her son Patrick and wife Sharon and her grandchildren Hannah, Aiden, Laura, Edward, Caitlin, Kayleigh, Jenny and their partners and her great granddaughter Fearne. She also leaves sister Patricia and friend Derek, sisters Ita, Colette and her husband Brian. She was a much loved auntie to numerous nieces and nephews and was a good friend to all who knew her. Donations in lieu of flowers were for C.A.F.O.D.
