TomPURDY(Brunton Park). Peacefully after a short illness on 19th November, aged 87 years, Tom (retired Headmaster of Northern Counties School for the Deaf), beloved husband of the late Anne, dearly loved dad of Nigel and Janet, a much loved grandad and father-in-law. Friends please meet for Funeral Service at West Road Crematorium on Monday 1st December at 2.45pm. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired may be made at the crematorium to Cancer Research. All welcome afterwards to Benwell Hill Cricket Club.

fantastic headmaster


Mr purdy was my teacher at the Northern counties school for the deaf from 1961 until 1977 . He was very well respected and loved by his pupils . I gained so much from Mr Purdy and he was so caring and will be very sadly missed . Paul wilson .
