The obituary notice of Audrie PURTELL

I read with great sadness that Audrie had passed. I was a good friend of Audrie‘s eldest son at school, and I knew Audrie through him. I also had the privilege of working with Audrie for a short time as a porter in the same hospital where she worked as a senior nurse. After leaving Kent for university, things moved on and I fell out of contact with Audrie and her family, but came across this almost by accident. Although I wouldn’t pretend to have known Audrie well, she struck me as a very remarkable woman, and someone who I respected hugely as I was growing up. As it happens, she passed within a week of my own mother; they were both nurses working in the same hospital, and knew each other as colleagues as well as mums of two friends. My thoughts are with Audrie’s family at this time.
