so sad to read this I know how much he meant to you all .. although I may not have continued in your lives, Geoff was a wonderful father-in-law for the time I was there. Thinking of Nigel and Sue and the rest of the family ... Sue x

Geoff was a much loved and well respected member of the Royal Navy Rugby Union. He brought his experience of rugby with Leicester and Devon to the Union and in 1967 he was made their 23rd Selector winning the Inter Services a couple of years later in 1970. When he retired from the Service in 1982 he was made a Life Member of the Royal Navy Rugby Union, only the 18th person to be afforded the honour. He helped develop very many rugby players during his time in the Service and with the Union and was always there to help others. His set the foudnation for one of the Union's most successful periods and his legacy will always live on.
