Susan MaryRAYWOODnee Astin, born November 21, 1950, Townley Avenue, Huncoat, third daughter of Ted Astin, passed away peacefully on May 19 at home, at Old Wife Hey Farm, Tockholes. Susan will be very much missed and lovingly remembered by husband Shaun Raywood, daughter Kay Stephen, son Karl Raywood and grandchildren Shaun, Kerri, Lorna and Jake. Susan and her husband were company directors of their own business for 40 years, and she simultaneously served as a Magistrate in Hyndburn and surrounding districts. Susan had a talent and passion for horse riding and dearly missed her first champion ex-racehorse Solo (Rock Salmon). She had a love of the garden and all animals, but most of all a great commitment and love for her family. A lady that left everyone feeling they had met someone very special, because they had. Once met, never forgotten, and will always be in our hearts. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 1 at Accrington Crematorium Chapel at 1.40pm followed by burial in Accrington Cemetery. Family flowers only please, but donations in memory of Susan may be made to Cancer Research UK c/o Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington. All further enquiries tel 01254 233133.

Condolences from Peace Team from Wordscapes (USA) where Susan was a beloved member for years. Her stories from Old Wife Hey Farm warmed our hearts. As she shared her health concerns, she was always in our thoughts and prayers. She will be greatly missed.
