REECE FRENCHReece French, who died aged 20, will be remembered through the awarding of a bricklaying shield every year at City College Plymouth.Reece, from Tamerton Foliot, died on September 14, 2008, after a building site accident.Wayne Sheppard, lecturer in brickwork at the college, where Reece did his construction apprenticeship said: “Reece was a happy-go-lucky young man who was very popular with the staff and students in brickwork.“We decided to hold an annual competition in Reece's name to promote health and safety to all our students, and pay tribute to Reece.“He completed his advanced craft in bricklaying and had expressed an interest in returning to college to train in site management.”Reece was also a former pupil at St Boniface's Catholic College.
