June Helen WelshREIDJune Helen Welsh Reid, in her 87th year, passed away peacefully in the loving care of nurses at Nazareth House, Hammersmith on 24 February 2022 after a long battle with dementia. June left Beath High School, Cowdenbeath at 17 and subsequently passed her entrance exam for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office where she served for almost 40 years and enjoyed many foreign postings leading to her love of travel, particularly South America. After taking early retirement she developed her other passion and trained with the RHS as a horticulturalist going on to volunteer at several London gardens including Wisley and Kew. Generous, refined and sociable with a wonderful sense of humour June will be sadly missed by her sister Olive, extended family and all who knew her. Funeral private.
