Margaret RoseRICHARDS11 June 1937-14 July 2020 Margaret Richards, who had lived in Keynsham since the 1960s, died in July at the age of 83. She and her husband Harry were well known in the town, having brought up their three children there between the 1960s and the 1980s. They were active members of Keynsham and Saltford Wine Circle through the 1980s and 1990s, and Margaret regularly won prizes for her wine. She hosted countless dinner parties for the members of the Circle - she and Harry were always first on the dance floor, and particularly loved taking part in fancy dress. Margaret was also a keen swimmer and up until her 70s she swam regularly with a group of friends at Keynsham Leisure Centre. Margaret was a devoted mother and 'nan', and after the heart-breaking loss of her daughter Jane in 2011, her grandchildren provided comfort and distraction. Although suffering with dementia and physical ailments, Margaret continued to enjoy life with Harry into her 80s, and the couple could often be found out and about in Keynsham, where they enjoyed shopping on the high street and visiting the park. She and Harry were also well known to all the local bus drivers, as the couple took regular trips to the market towns around Bristol. Margaret and Harry lived at home in Keysham until Harry's death in late May 2020. Margaret then moved to Beech House Care Home in Thornbury, where she died peacefully on 14 July.
