David JohnRICHARDSJohn It is with great sadness that the family of David "John" Richards of Cwmbach, Aberdare announces his passing on 27th December 2020, unexpectedly from heart failure. Beloved husband to Maraylyn and much loved father of Linda, Julie & Phillip, loving brother to Sylvia. Greatly loved grandfather and great grandfather to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved so much. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean, who died at the age of 40 in 1980 and sister Barbara in 2020. Born in Trecynon, Aberdare, July 5, 1939, John lived primarily in and around Aberdare for most of his life. Long known for his positive outlook on life, love of the outdoors and his great sense of humour. John worked for many years in the coal and construction industries with the NCB, Parkinsons, Shands and Wimpey. A key advocate for improving workers safety and rights during these years to benefit the many people as a result within these industries. The funeral service by Pastor Robin Price will take place at the Apostolic Church, Club St, Aberaman at 13:00 on the 26th January with burial service at Aberdare Cemetery at 14:00. In the current circumstances the funeral will be for family with friends able to socially distance outside the chapel and at the cemetery. Family flowers only. Charitable donations welcome to Teen Challenge, www.teenchallenge.org.uk Sincere thanks for all the messages of sympathy received. "We will always carry your memory in our hearts"
