MaryRIGGPassed away peacefully in hospital on 29th September 2022, having been admitted a few days earlier. Up until that point she was living independently at home with some support, along with her beloved cat Puddy. Her contribution to the lives of family, friends and the wider community was significant. She always took an interest in what others were doing, and had helpful and insightful views to share. In her teaching career her final appointment was headmistress at Queen Elizabeth's Girls School, Mansfield; within the local Farnsfield community she was an active member (and president) of the WI; for the village millennium celebrations she wrote 'A History of Farnsfield', reflecting the interest in history that led to her becoming a history teacher. She will be very much missed by all who knew her.
