Passed away suddenly aged 85 at the Royal Derby Hospital on Friday 21st August 2026.

Beloved husband of Helen, devoted and dearly loved Dad to Lisa and Jan, treasured Grandpa of Leo and Whitney, a much-loved uncle, brother-in-law and friend to many.

David was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at All Saints' Church, Ockbrook on Thursday 1st October at 11.00am followed by a short committal service at Trent Valley Crematorium. All are welcome to attend both services.

Any of David's military comrades and friends are invited to wear their military medals if they so wish.

There is no specific dress code other than David's favourite flower was the poppy and it would be lovely if you could wear a poppy or something to represent the poppy in his memory.

Family flowers only please. Donations in loving memory of David are welcome for Help for Heroes or SSAFA and may be left on the day, online via the link below or sent to A.W. Lymn
