PeterRIMMERPeter Douglas Rimmer, aged 87, of Southport, peacefully passed away on the 14th October 2026.

Born in Southport on 27th June 1939, Peter was a true local character who spent his life deeply connected to the coast and countryside of his hometown.
Peter was a proud Southport shrimper, a historic trade that reflected his hard-working spirit and love for the local waters. Beyond his time on the coast, Peter had a profound passion for animals and wildlife. He was happiest spending his days on the smallholding, where he lovingly cared for his pigs, beef cattle, geese, and goats.

These treasured years on the land were shared alongside his beloved late wife, Florence Rimmer, with whom he is now peacefully reunited.
He was a devoted and much-loved father and grandfather.
Peter is survived by his three children, Anne, John, and Tony Rimmer, and his cherished grandchildren, Peter and Tia Rimmer, who will all miss his guidance, warmth, and stories dearly.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service to celebrate Peter's life at St Cuthbert's Church, Chuchtown on Tuesday 10th November 2026 at 11am. An interment will then take place immediately after the service where Peter will be laid to rest at St Cuthbert's Churchyard.
Following the interment, everyone is warmly welcome to join the family to share memories and raise a glass at the Fleetwood Hesketh Social Club, Fylde Road, Southport.

Family flowers only however if you wish to make a gesture in Peter's memory, donations are being gratefully received for his chosen charities, which reflect his life's twin passions:
Woodlands Animal Sanctuary and Southport Offshore Rescue Trust (Southport Lifeboat)
