My aunt Doreen was talented in so many ways, and I would like to share one memory that has stayed with me throughout my life. For my wedding, she lovingly made my garter belt by hand and beautifully adorned it with a delicate thistle. I have treasured it ever since, and I still have it to this day. It is so much more than a keepsake—it is a lasting reminder of her creativity, thoughtfulness, and the love she put into everything she made. It is a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.
