I have only this morning received a phone call notifying me of Dave's passing. What a shock.
I had sent my usual Christmas card and a friend who is looking after the house is opening cards and contacting all that he can.
I am so very sorry that I didn't know in time to attend his funeral and pay my respects.
I had known Dave for over 55 years. Always a gentleman and he will be so sadly missed by all who knew him
RIP

Dave was a loyal, true friend from the time we met and trained together in Derby in the 1960s til he died. I miss him. I'd be happy to be in touch with other friends who knew him, especially those who also knew him from our time at

This is hard for me, as it will be for everyone who knew Dave. He will be sadly missed, both at Burton Albion and Belper Town football clubs.

I, and many others, had the pleasure of knowing Dave and being in his company. A knowledgeable gent who enjoyed his sport - I spent many Saturday afternoons with Dave over the years at home matches, and occasional away games too.

Gone too soon 😔

Shall miss our weekly chats and Darley walks David. Always a joy to share stories and mostly laugh with. Truly a lovely man who will be dearly missed.
