It is really sad to hear of Pete’s passing.
Pete and I first met in 1963 when I joined the company, Richards Structural Steel in Leicester, as an apprentice. Pete was running the stores at that time. It wasn’t long before we realized, we were both mad keen footballers. Bob Allen who also worked there persuaded us to Join Humberstone St Marys football club. We both played with the team on and off for a number of years, eventually becoming division 4 champions in 1974. I know Pete played for other teams, as I did with Blaby Old Boys in the Senior League, but we always gravitated back to the ‘Marys’, where there were lots of friends. As there may not be many of us around now, I hope any remaining will see this and be there at the funeral. Although we haven’t seen much of each other during the last few years, we always kept in touch. Rest in peace with Liz my dear friend.
