PeterROTHWELLPeter Rothwell, of Berrynarbor, died peacefully Sunday 4 August, aged 72. Born in Manchester, Peter moved to North Devon as a child where he developed a love for the area, particularly Lundy Island. Peter studied art at Dartington College, later teaching and lecturing, and achieved notable success with his own work often inspired by the North Devon landscape. Despite illness he maintained his independence and continued working until shortly before his death, still painting, dealing in rare books and, until recently, working as a librarian for the Landmark Trust. He was loved and will be missed by his wife Sally, children Marc, Trudi, Robin and Anna, step children James, David and Robert, and grandchildren Caitlin, Millie, Dillon, Jack, Evie, Missie and Heloise. A funeral service will be held at Barnstaple Crematorium at 3.00pm, 23rd August followed by refreshments.
