IanRUTTERIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ian, aged 64, on 9th November 2024, in the warmth & care of St Luke's Hospice. Ian fought a truly courageous, herculean battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully in his sleep & is no longer suffering. Ian was the most beloved partner of Yvonne, Step Dad & great friend to Emmy & Colin, respected by Mark & deeply loved by Grandchildren Lucy, Lloyd, Laura, Rosie & Freddy, along with all other family members. We will be holding a celebration of this amazing man's life at the Royal British Legion Club at Crownhill on Saturday 18th January 2025 between 13:00 - 17:00, all friends are welcome to join us. Thank you to all that cared for Ian in Derriford Hospital, especially the Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist Team & all at St Luke's. Donations if desired to St Luke's Hospice.

Ian was such a lovely person. In the time me and Dennis knew him, he was always cheerful. He helped us so much. It is very sad he had to leave us all now.

Our thoughts are with Yvey and the family.

Today, we remember Ian, a wonderful friend who was more than just a friend—he was family. Ian had a heart of gold, always ready to help with a smile and a “can-do” attitude. No job was too big or too small for him, and he faced every challenge with unwavering kindness and humility.

Ian wasn’t just dependable; he brought warmth and positivity to every moment we shared. He was the kind of person who left a lasting impact on everyone he met. His generosity, compassion, and unwavering support made him a truly special part of our lives.

Though we couldn’t be there to visit him recently, his memory will forever live on in our hearts. Ian, you were a gift to all of us, and we are so grateful for the time we had with you.

Rest in peace, dear friend. You will always be missed and cherished.

I am so very sorry to read of Ian's passing. I met Ian through his work at Derriford Hospital. What a genuinely delightful gent...always had time for a chat and always working hard.

I did bump in to Ian recently and he shared his cancer journey with me. As always...had a smile on his face.

The times ahead will be challenging as you navigate life without him. I hope in time you get some comfort from your memories and knowing his smile and attitude impacted others. 🤍❤️

Best Wishes
