Gavin (Gav)SALT (Flight Lieutenant Gavin Salt RAFAC)It is with great sadness to announce that Gavin aged 50 years passed away unexpectedly at home in Worthing on 4th November 2022. A beloved son to Marion and the late Derek, a much loved brother to Robert. Gavin was also a dear nephew, a good friend to many and will be missed by all. A service to celebrate Gavin's life will be held at Grimsby Crematorium on Friday 9th December at 1.30pm. By request no flowers, but donations in Gavin's memory can be made to 2529 (Burgess Hill) Air Training Corps. A donation box will be available on the day or can be sent to J. W. Emberson. To the family of Gavin, I am one of the consultants at the Royal Sussex County Hospital who cared for Gavin. I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Gavin's death. He was a truly remarkable man and his commitment to improving the care of young people with diabetes, and diabetic care in general was remarkable. I know he would have gone on to contribute so much. We started out as colleagues, but ended up as really good friends. Gavin was the sort of person that would do anything for anyone. I loved Gavin dearly and he will always be in my heart. I am deeply saddened at his passing and will miss him always. RIP Gav xx

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Gavin’s sudden passing. Gavin has been part of our team for some years now, and he will be greatly missed.
