I was lucky enough to share an office with Nichola when I joined the Home Office in 2002. She was incredibly kind and welcoming and I remember she had the warmest of smiles. She was a fabulously able and clever lawyer, astute and modest. Behind the quiet front, she was beautifully warm and thoughtful, generously offering help whenever it might be needed and always hugely supportive. Full of integrity, committed to service and slow to take the limelight, Nichola was a wonderful colleague. I too send my heartfelt condolences to Nichola's family and former partner. I will remember Nichola for all her quiet brilliance, modesty, integrity, kindness and her beautiful warm smile.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Nichola’s passing. I worked closely with her in 2017-2018. She had a brilliant mind and was very kind and generous with her time. She excelled in her work, but was modest about her accomplishments. She was down to earth and interested in people. It was a privilege to work with her and I will always remember Nichola fondly, especially her warm smile.

Nichola was my team-mate when I joined the Home Office in 2001, and I found her to be one of the most sincere, kind, and decent people I have ever met. She was shy and quiet, but absolutely dependable and full of integrity. She made immense contributions through her work, and was so intelligent and hard-working. The world has lost a lovely pure soul
