My darling Miss Sam. You were more than an aunt to me, you were like a mother. I remember as a child in Jamaica, you were always kind, quiet and gentle and treated me like one of your own children rather than a niece and to me, you were my angel on earth.

When you and Uncle Sam came to Gloucester in the UK, I took the opportunity of making frequent visits to see you, Uncle Sam and my other relatives. Unfortunately, my marriage failed at a young age and I was left to raise four children alone but, I could always rely on you, Uncle Sam and my other relatives to give both my children and myself comfort, support and help when needed.

The Lord blessed you with a long life on earth and now that He has taken you home, may He continue to bless your immortal soul and may His perpetual light shine on you.

I will miss you greatly and cannot wait until we meet again.

Today we say goodbye to our beloved Great Aunt, Auntie Winnie, a truly remarkable woman who touched our lives with her kindness, wisdom, strength, and love. She was "great" not only in title, but in every sense of the word.

Her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit brought comfort and joy to everyone who knew her. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain with us always.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the blessing of having had her in our lives. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and in the countless lives she enriched.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her three nieces in Birmingham - Marcia, Thelma and Ava - and by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest peacefully, dear Auntie Winnie. Your love remains with us, and your memory will never fade xxx

Winifred Clothilda Samuels was not only an aunt but, was like a mother to my mother Clare Forrester and a great aunt to me. She was a quiet, gentle woman who always shown us love and affection and, she was always there to support my mother particularly when my mother's marriage failed at a very young age and, she was left with four young children to raise alone. Now that she has returned home to Heaven, may her immortal soul always be blessed.

We hope that our donation will help towards the continued research and development to one day eradicate Parkinson's disease.

Auntie Winnie, my godmother - a gentle, kind, generous and gracious soul. Though her earthly life has come to an end, the love she gave and the memories she leaves behind will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

All things fair and blessed be thine
All good gifts from hand Divine
Now and henceforth be thy days
Tuned to notes of love and praise
Golden sunshine stealing down
Touch thee softly like a crown
