Sara EileenSAVORYSara Eileen Savory (nee Hames), of Netherseal, South Derbyshire, died on Sunday 5th July 2020 at Queen's Hospital, Burton-upon-Trent. She was 67. Sara was born in Southampton on 29 November 1952 and then moved to the Isle of Wight with her late parents; Dennis and Roma Hames. She spent her childhood on the Island, with her siblings; Caroline and Stephen. Between 1972 and 1976 she trained as a primary school teacher and then for a Degree in Education, at Milton Teacher Training College, Portsmouth. On 29 July 1978 Sara married David Savory at St Mark's Church in Wootton Bridge. They lived in Tamworth, Staffordshire until 2004, and then moved to Netherseal, Derbyshire. Sara was a passionate teacher of young children and taught at various schools in Tamworth, finishing her career at The Three Peaks Primary School, Stonydelph in 2013. Sara's funeral will take place at Bretby Crematorium, Burton-on-Trent on 31 July 2020 at 12.00 noon. Due to Covid-19, the service will be restricted to family members and close friends only, but others wishing to pay their last respects are welcome to gather outside the chapel from 11.30am. An opportunity to share memories will take place at the family home afterwards (by invitation only). The family would like to invite friends and relatives to make donations to APS Support UK, the UK charity supporting people with the disease that Sara was diagnosed with in 1999, and which eventually took her life. Donations can be either direct via the organisation's website (https://www.aps-support.org.uk), or via David Savory or any other family member.
