Ronald VincentSEDLICKASSedlickas (RONALD VINCENT) ("SEDS") 57 of Dartmouth NS passed away peacefully on Monday 16th April 2012 in the VG Hospital Halifax surrounded by family and friends. Born in Manchester Lancashire, England, Ron (better known as Seds) was a gentle, loving caring husband, step-father and grandfather. Ron grew up in the Northwest of England. Upon finishing school, he worked at the Manchester Evening News, and then joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) in the early 1970's as an avionics technician. He served at numerous locations throughout the United Kingdom as well as overseas in Germany (RAF Bruggen) and Canada (RAF Unit Goosebay). Upon leaving the RAF, Ron joined Canada Post and eventually transferred to Dartmouth, NS. One of Ron's greatest loves was the sport of rugby. Not only was he a ManUnited fan, but he also represented a number of RAF teams and enjoyed many rugby tours. Through the sport, Ron made many good and lasting friendships and the social side of the game appealed to his infectious nature. His many interests included motorcycling, snowmobiling, traveling and spending quality time with friends and family. Ron had many close and personal friendships. He was a very unique individual who made even strangers feel he was their best friend within the time it took to share a beer. Seds was truly one of a kind. He loved to tell stories, always made people laugh and was never seen without a smile on his face. He is loved by everyone, and will be sorely missed but never forgotten. He will live on in our hearts forever. He was survived by his wife Rita (Eblie) Sedlickas, his step daughter Jennifer, (Christopher) Osborne and grandchildren Kohl, Kamron and Kwyn Osborne. Visitation will be Friday April 20th from 6-8 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main St , Dartmouth. Where a memorial service will be held on Wednesday April 25 at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow. Donations are to be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association and the Canadian Paraplegic Association.
