JohnSHANKS(Washington / Newbiggin by the sea) Peacefully in the QE Hospital on the 14th October aged 89 years. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth. A much loved Dad of Susan and Michael, father-in-law to John and Joanne. Loving "Gramps" to Gemma Leigh, Sean, Megan, Hannah, Robyn, Lucy and great granddaughters, Georgia, Greia and Autumn Rea. Funeral service to be held on Monday the 24th of October at Holy Trinity Church Washington at 1.30 pm followed by cremation at Birtley Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the QE Hospital ward 22. A donation box will be available. Family and friends all welcome afterwards at the Washington Arms. Enquiries to Walker & Morrell 0191 4164160.
