ValerieSHAWOn 28th August 2019 In loving memory of Valerie Shaw, who passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, with her adoring partner Kev, by her side, Val leaves behind three much loved children Julie, Darren and Hazel and three grandchildren Eleanor, Clara and Jamie. In accordance with Val's wishes a private funeral has taken place. Forever in our hearts, sleep tight Val, Rest In Peace.

Only recently found out by accident that Val had passed away. So sorry for your loss.

I'm going to the "Prog Rock Proms" at the Royal Albert Hall this Saturday (18/07/2026) and I'll be thinking of Val when they're playing "Close To The Edge" by Yes.

I still remember Val organising a trip from Huddersfield Technical College for a bunch of us to see Rick Wakeman in Manchester (my first ever gig!). And the trip to Monsters of Rock at Castle Donnington (ACDC! Whitesnake!).

She really was one of a kind.
