Robert JohnSHAW(Rob) Unexpectedly on Wednesday March 24th 2021, Rob aged 62 years of Hanley passed away at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Treasured son of Ann and Ken, dearly loved and precious dad of Emma and Robert. Father in law of Richard, a loving Emma's daddy of Grace, a dear brother of Jackie and Joanne, a precious and adored uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, colleague and mentor to his students at Staffordshire University. Rob will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. A private service by invitation only will take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Wednesday April 14th 2021. Donations in lieu of flowers would be welcome to the British Heart Foundation via the funeral notices website. One year since your funeral and it doesnt get easier, even though i was just a student of yours you impacted me in ways i can never explain, you were more than just a lecturer, you were a friend, someone that really cared for all of his students and i know how many students cared for you. You are missed dearly my friend Rob Shaw.

I was lucky enough to meet Bob at the Sixth Form College in 1975 - after which we became close friends - certainly one of the kindest and funniest people that I have ever met - rest in peace mate - I’ll never forget you. .
