GeorgeSHEPHERDSuddenly after a short illness at the RVI on 12th October 2023 aged 92 years, George dearly beloved husband of the late Marion (nee Bell) and cherished partner of the late Maureen, a loving dad of Susan and Simon, also a dear father in law of Kev and Gillian, an adored grandad of Marc, a much loved great grandad of Ellis and Lyla.

Would family and friends please meet for funeral service at the West Road Crematorium on Friday 27th October at 10.15am.

Family flowers only please donations if so desired to Cancer Research UK a charity which George supported.

Very much sharing your thoughts when celebrating a person who has played a central and caring role throughout his time with everyone he has blessed with his presence. I know my dad was immensely grateful for the conduit he provided between Durham and Newcastle . Regards and sympathy Cousin Alfie

So sorry to hear of the passing of my cousin George. George was the most senior of the cousins and I was the most junior so I have very fond memories of my big cousin at family parties: Aunty Ivy’s on Christmas Night, Aunty Gladys and Uncle Jack’s on Boxing Day and so on…Georgie was always in the thick of the action!
