The obituary notice of Arthur ('Shep') SHEPHERD

Arthur and me enjoyed the first part of our young lives living on the same yard and playing football on a large blue brick back yard that serviced 8 terraced houses. We never stopped playing football there every night and week end until we was told to clear off onto the Arboretum Park (Arbo). We also played football together for Hardwick and Dale. plus Dale Youth Club before leaving school. I will always remember and be grateful to have had Art for mate. Our two large families lived happily together on that large yard until the demolition people showed its ugly head. RIP Art we had some good times together.

I remember Arthur and Jen didn’t know them for long but my thoughts are with you at this sad moment.to Jen remember all the good times you shared and the years that you spent together,time will pass and it slowly gets easier,and now he is is peace and no more suffering you will start to heal .Arhthur (Art) will always be there with you Jen every step you take,spring is on its way and enjoy it enjoy your life .Never feel guilty when ur are happy he would have wanted that .Enjoy the people family and friends around you take care love an old friend Angie Slater ( Barrie who also knew you both they may meet again hopefully)

I only knew "Shep" for 9 months but in that time we became very good friends. He was a joy to be with and his wicked sense of humour endeared me to him. I will miss him greatly . Rest in peace my dear friend

You were far more than just my uncle, you’ve held my hand throughout my life and I was so privileged to have held yours as you left us. I’ll cherish our memories, think of you everyday and hold you in my heart forever.

My great uncle will be deeply missed and I know he is looking over at us smiling knowing we are doing well. My great uncle was a big part of my life and I will cherish him forever. He was a friend to many and always had a smile on his face. Missing you lots love Emily xx
