Very sad to see that Marion had passed away. It was also sad to read that her husband Alan had also passed. I got to know the Shields family in the early seventies, and they were always very welcoming. In checking other of Marion’s family on this website, I read the her sister Jean Nelson and her husband Gordon have both subsequently passed away. As I recall, Marion & Jean were very close. Fate took my life in a different direction, however, I was able to catch-up again and help them in the early eighties. The fond memories I have from the time we shared have not been lost, and played a part in shaping my life. Hazlerigg has lost some of it’s best neighbours.
