Maureen ElizabethSHUCKSMITHMolly Born 13th March 1928, youngest child of Fred Meanwell and Chrissie (nee Wray), brothers Alec and Derek. She was educated at Eastfield Primary School and at the age of 11 moved to Monks Dyke School. On leaving school, she was employed at Topliss & Co, in the office. Molly was already taking a keen interest in music and was a very competent pianist and singer, taking on piano pupils and furthering her musical education under the direction of Pamela Gauntlette and Harold Dexter. She then married Philip Henry Shucksmith (1927-2016) on 26th November 1949; they had four children: Patricia Ann, Maureen, David Ian and Kathryn Lesley. She taught the piano from the age of 14 until last year (77 years) Molly was a lifetime member of the Louth Choral Society and continued her love of singing by forming and conducting her own Youth Choir and subsequently the choir at North Cockerington School. Throughout her life she was indeed a much sought-after piano teacher, nurturing her students' musical abilities to the highest level. Alongside her brother Alec, they gave many concerts at Riverhead Methodist Church and then at Nichol Hill Centenary Church. Along with her husband Philip; music was indeed the love of her life.
