Doctor DavidSIBBALDA beloved family man, local GP, and intrepid adventurer, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28th, 2024, aged 93. A devoted physician, Dr. Sibbald served the Bathgate community for many years and was well known for his kind spirit, keen humour, and deep commitment to caring for others. Beyond his dedication to medicine, he had a passion for the mountains, becoming only the 312th person to climb all the Scottish Munros despite breaking his back in the 60s and being told he might never walk again. Dave leaves behind his loving wife, Doctor Barbara (Bara) Sibbald, daughters Susan and Anne, and grandchildren Fiona and David. True to his character, he chose to forgo a funeral service, instead donating his body to Edinburgh University Medical Faculty, where he and Bara first met as medical students in the 1950s.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the compassionate staff at the HC One care home Linlithgow who took such good care of Dave.

'Only a hill, but all of life to me, Up there, between the sunset and the sea'.
