RobertSIMPSONMr Robert Simpson, of Accrington, passed away peacefully at Hollin Bank House on Sunday, March 28, aged 92. Devoted husband of Doreen, beloved brother to Brenda, Robert also leaves brother-in-law Tommy, nieces Lisa and husband Terry, Nicola and husband Andrew, step-daughter Julie and husband Gerald, step grandchildren Adrian and partner Danielle, and Linda and husband Peter, and step, great-grandchildren Lucia, Rudy, and Alba. Originally from County Durham, Robert lived in Accrington for many years. He worked the majority of his life at Renowned Gears, and later as caretaker at Mount Pleasant School. He loved gardening and was an avid fan of Newcastle United, along with enjoying a pint at his local on Sunday lunch. The family would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Hollin Bank House for their care and kindness with Robert over the last months. The funeral was due to take place at Accrington Crematorium on Thursday, April 8, at 1pm, led by Rev Stephen Crook. Family flowers only; donations if desired to Alzheimer’s Society c/o funeral director or via www.justgiving.com/ fundraising/pete-berry Funeral director: Hyndburn Funeral Services.
