The obituary notice of Richard SIMPSON

Sad to hear about Richard's passing. I worked with him for many years at Team Valley and met him several times when we retired. He was great company at the meal table always had a story to tell.

I am so sorry to hear this. Completely by chance I have just found out about Richard's passing. I worked with Richard at NEI and later Rolls-Royce. As others have said he was always cheerful and positive despite his health problems and was a pleasure to work with. RIP Richard.

I have sadly only just learned of Richard’s passing and sorry I was unable to pay my respects on Monday. I have known Richard since I was a young girl as he and my Mother were friends. We also worked together at NEI for a number of years in the 70’s & 80’s. Richard was quite the comedian and always had a story to tell. Despite many many health issues throughout his life he always remained positive and was a true inspiration. RIP Richard. With love, Fiona x

I was sorry not to be able to attend Richard's funeral to pay my respects. Richard was a Director of our North Eastern Skin Research Fund, a charity dedicated to raising funding for research into skin disease in the North East. As a patient who had suffered from skin and related joint disease for many years he brought important insights which he shared with us and the community. He was enthusiastic and hard working in organising and contributing to fund-raising events. The funding raised has supported early career researchers go on to raise further grants and fellowships. Despite Richard's medical problems he remained cheerful and positive and was an inspiration to those around him. He will be sadly missed. Nick Reynolds.
