James (Jim)SLOANOn 26th December 2019, peacefully at home, James (Jim) Sloan of Kyetes Hill, Hayrigg, Lockerbie (formerly of Yesket Farm). A beloved husband of Elspeth and a much loved father of John. Service to be held in Dryfesdale Parish Church on Wednesday 8th January at 1:00pm thereafter, to Roucan Loch Crematorium to which all friends are respectfully invited to attend. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Renal Unit at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

We were at the East of Scotland School of Agriculture with Jim 1958 - 60. In the past few years we have had a number of reunion lunches in Edinburgh. Jim was at two of them and we were all taken by his positive outloook in the face of considerable medical problems. His humour had not diminished since college days and we will all miss a good friend - John Arbuckle, Stan Bayne, Bob Niven, Colin Macfarlane, Iain Roper -Caldbeck and Hugh Smith.
