BrianSMARTIt is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Brian, who passed away on Thursday 9th April, aged 72. Beloved husband of Gina, much loved father of John, Colin and Nicola, father-in-law of Daniel, adored grandad of Dominic, Adam, Isaac, Noah and Jamie. We are extremely grateful for the compassionate care and attention he received at Ayr Hospital. A Cremation will take place with a Memorial Service at a future date.

Very sad to hear that Brian had passed away. I had the pleasure of serving him when I worked at Frank Usher. One of life’s true gents. Condolences to the family

I always got a warm welcome at the Smart family home. Brian was such a lovely man who couldn’t do enough for you. “Such a gentleman”, my Mum said. He had the keenest wit and I’ll always remember him for it. Our hearts go out to the whole Smart family circle, but especially my best friend Nic who was a doting daughter to Brian. “So Dawn Goes Down To Day; Nothing Gold Can Stay”
