DavidSMITHMr David Smith, of Stacksteads, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 15, aged 77. Dear husband of Kathryn, much loved dad to Carolyn & husband Jonathan, and Warren & wife Lucy, wonderful grandad to Eva and Alex, much loved by his sister Maggie & husband Jim. He worked as a mechanic for Michelin Tyres before retiring at age 57. He then worked part time doing maintenance for the Library Service. David really enjoyed a game of golf and was a member at Bacup Golf Club for many years. He was also a member of Bacup Amateurs in the 1960’s and enjoyed doing the choreography in later years. His favourite show was West Side Story which we watched many times. David, since retiring, enjoyed many holidays abroad and had a very fulfilling life. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family. His funeral was due to be held on Thursday, March 25 at Burnley Crematorium, led by Gemma Rooke. Donations if desired to a charity close to David’s heart, Clic Sargent, a charity that provides funds for the parents of children with cancer.
