ShirleySMITHFormer schoolteacher, headmistress and school inspector. Inspired amateur gardener, author and charity fundraiser. Passed away peacefully, aged 86, on 8/12/2022 after a short illness. Loving wife of the late Donald Smith and of the late George Andrew, and partner of the late Graham "Ben" Johnson. Beloved mother to Helen, Laurence and Lucy and stepmother to Paul and Helen Elizabeth. Treasured Grandma to all her grandchildren. Dear sister, aunty and loyal friend. Funeral service at Gedling Crematorium, Nottingham on Monday 9th January 2023 at 1 pm. All welcome to attend. Please wait at the venue. No flowers by request. Many fond childhood memories of growing up with Shirley watching over us. She was clever and inspirational, but always allowed us plenty of freedom to play and develop our own characters - which I think often amused her too!
Lots of good times and will be always remembered x
