Ray, Nic and Pete - I have such great memories of childhood round the corner in Carlton Ave. Lots of fun and laughter and a few raised voices at times when Pete was naughty ( which was quite a bit). Maureen was always welcoming to me even when me and Nic had an argument which I remember was fairly often. Saturday was shopping in Louth and visit to nanna, Tuesday was coffee afternoon, but really it was wine afternoon. This was a great tradition that lasted long after we left school and home in fact. I remember many a bonfire nights down at the bottom of the road with our parents drinking a little too much wine and Colin’s home brew and falling off hay bales in hysterics. When we discovered Nic and I shared the same birthday, our families were drawn together. Our parents have been friends ever since. Maureen will be watching you all having a wine with my mum. Sorry we can’t be there.
